It's almost the Fourth of July, and lucky for Charlotte residents, there are a number of great events for residents of all ages. Whether you're planning to celebrate with friends or to bring the little ones along for a day of fireworks and fun, here are some of the best Fourth of July festivities in the Charlotte area this year.
The Charlotte Museum of History
If you're looking for something a bit more unique and educational to do on the Fourth, pay a visit to the Charlotte Museum of History. Here, you'll take part in lectures, tours of the Hezekiah Alexander home, crafts for kids and even the ringing of the American Freedom Bell.
Carowinds Celebrate America Fireworks Show
On the Fourth of July, Carowinds park will offer free park admission to any active, inactive or retired member of the military. There will also be a grand fireworks display beginning at 10 p.m.
Hickory Grove Parade and Celebration
For almost 50 years, the Hickory Grove Parade has been one of the most popular Fourth of July festivities in the Charlotte area. This year's celebration will begin at 11:30 a.m. on July 4th, and it will feature incredible floats, live music, food booths and even contests with great prizes.
