It's always a bit harder to get up and out of the house during the cold, blustery winter season, but there are a ton of fun things to do in Charlotte in the winter. If you're trying to make this weekend a fun one, here are some great ideas for winter activities in your area.
- Explore The Whitewater Center. While this natural area is best known for its whitewater rafting, it also offers trails for hiking, biking, jogging and rock climbing during the colder months.
- The Martin Luther King Day Parade. Schools, communities, and even sports teams come together in downtown Charlotte to celebrate the life and times of famed American activist and Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Ice skating at the Nascar Hall of Fame Plaza. Take part in everyone's favorite outdoor winter activity: ice skating! Head over to Nascar Hall of Fame Plaza to admire its 7,000-square-foot ice skating rink.
- Biltmore Estate. Take a weekend road trip to America's largest private residence, the home of the esteemed Vanderbilt family. It's quite a sight to see, especially if you've only visited in the summertime.
